Why Am I Blogging

Kid approved smoothies

Yes, that is a question I ask myself while I am looking at this blank page and empty blog. I never knew a blank screen could be so intimidating. I don't think after staring at this screen for the past 20 minutes I will be able to look at a computer screen the same way ever again. But I think that's ok. I actually like that, I think it's more than ok. It's great!

That is why I have started this blogging journey. Sometimes we have been looking at things for so long it has lost any sort of value, depth, understanding or inspiration. We forget the power and potential that is hidden inside of whatever it may be that we look at day after day.

Let's take my blender for example. It sat on my counter for months and months. I finally got sick of looking at it just sitting there in the corner taking up space. I then moved it into one of my cupboards and was done with that. It actually became more annoying down there because every time I had to pull something out I had to take that bulky blender out or shove it to the left or to the right. Well, today I decided to look at that blender a little differently. I looked at it with potential. I looked at it like it was good for something and I had a plan. Samuel and I threw in bananas, spinach, yogurt, almond butter and almond milk and we created the most amazing smoothies these kids have ever tasted. I didn't know a 3 year old could be so exited about sucking up spinach through a straw.

We sometimes look at our life the same way, day after day and think it's just another day of doing what I do. We think it's just another day of the mundane. We don't always think we have the right tools to do much of anything, let alone something valuable, memorable or pleasing to anyone.

This blog is to get us thinking about things differently, thinking about yourself differently, thinking about your life differently. I was not created to sit on a counter, be shoved in a cupboard, or in my case and many of yours to sit on the couch, be shoved to and fro in life. We were made for a purpose, we were made to Live For Him.

1 Corinthians 1:9 God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yes, that verse just said "Partnership with Jesus Christ". We are partners with Christ, who was raised from the dead, the Son of the one and only true God. I hope you are looking at yourself differently now. I know I am.

This blog will be taking a look at our lives, opportunities, gifts, ups and downs of life and see where do we need to step it up, where do we need to look a little deeper at something, where do we need to live more for Him?

So let's go!
